The Linking Loop

The Linking loop is originated from two intersecting loops, as a metaphor representing the old and young generation reunite in the L-shaped collective housing site.

In the centre of the site is a large performing stage and recreation space with a view to rendering a harmonious community space within the site.  The Linking Loops remains a humble yet welcoming state in the dense residential area. It is to increase the interaction of people in the community while living in the same district.

In line with the urban grid layout, the housing allows high accessibility that people can go in and out through three main entrances.

One feature of the collective housing project is the linking corridor, the long corridor is a place where people greet and see each other more oftern. It not only offer high permeability, it is also a jorney of people going home and meeting their neighbours.

The large open space in the centre allowing multiple uses, for example, music performance, public activities and leisure, which is the place people get engaged in the community.
